Led by botanist, nature steward, and storyteller Hamish Martin, this guided landscape experience offers a deeper way of engaging with the land around The Torridon. It is an invitation to slow down, look closely, and understand the landscape not simply as scenery, but as a living system shaped by geology, climate, history, and human connection.

Set beneath the dramatic Torridon hills, the walk moves gently through forest, glen, and shores of Loch Torridon surrounding the hotel. As you walk, Hamish brings attention to the finer details of the landscape, from native plants and their traditional uses to the subtle signs of wildlife often missed by the untrained eye. Each experience is shaped by the season, the weather, and what the land offers on the day, making every walk unique.

More than a nature walk, this is a sensory and story‑led journey. You will learn how plants were once used for medicine, food, and dyes, how wildlife adapts to this rugged environment, and how people have lived with, worked, and been shaped by the surrounding landscape over generations. Stories of place, folklore, and cultural heritage are woven throughout, grounding the experience in the deep relationship between land and life in the Highlands.
