I am very proud to be writing about our new 1887 suite, the latest and most exquisite addition to our room portfolio. BUT, where there is perfection, there is also blood (raised blood pressure), sweat and quite a few tears. So much so, that I am a little surprised that my husband is actually still talking to me. This project has been my biggest to date, and I have to say, by far my most challenging and probably most argued about. It’s fair to say, I have had a few hiccups along the way such as; wrongly placed tiles that needed to be uplifted, a JCB to take windows out to get HUGE sofas in, extra wallpaper flown up from London and new walls added at last minute. Well maybe not little hiccups more like great big belches that meant I slightly (quite a bit) went over budget. But who can put a price on perfection? So here we are now, despite the pain we now have gained a stunning suite, with every comfort and detail fit for a queen, very fitting for the jubilee year. Phew, I now just have to sit back and think – what next, now that’s got me thinking.
