Boys Eat Scotland is a blog but the title sounds as much an exhortation as a travel site and as big fans of Scotland’s food, we thoroughly endorse the suggestion.
With bib untucked and keyboard unfurled, it enthusiastically grazes its way round the country and recently travelled round the North Coast 500, Scotland’s scenic circle.
Along the way, and more than ready for some R&R after a long day behind the wheel, they overnighted at the The Stables.
Increasingly many NC500 travellers – there ought to be a collective noun – find The Stables provides an ideal break in their journey as well as a base for a raft of activities.
Sure enough, when they got there, B.E.A. found the car park:
crammed full of canoes, bikes and outdoor gear ready for an action packed weekend in the stunning Wester Ross wilderness
However they still found room at the Inn and were mightily impressed by the huge bed, massive bath, lovely toiletries and Tunnocks wafers on the in-room tea tray.
it really is the perfect home from home after a day out on the hills
Happily, dinner also delighted and included the Inn’s signature NC500 burger as well as steak pie and generous scoops of Black Isle ice cream to finish.
It was a reluctant party of travellers that climbed back behind the wheel next morning.
We stayed for one night but could have happily stayed a while longer as there is so much to enjoy at The Torridon.
