What’s the Buzz? Bees and The Torridon Kitchen Garden

This is a bad time for British bees with the population declining at an alarming rate – by a third in the last eight years.

Anything that can be done to reverse this situation is welcome, both from an environmental point of view and an economic one.

That is why when it came to selecting new in-room toiletries for The Stables we were attracted (as if by pollen) to the BeeKind range.

Including honey in its formula, along with certified organic extracts of red clover, calendula, lemongrass and chamomile, a portion of BeeKind’s profits supports honey bee protection and sustainable pollination research.

One place honey bees are always welcome is The Torridon Kitchen Garden. Guests are also welcome and enjoy strolling amongst the flowers, fruit and vegetables, as well as sampling the produce on the plate in our 1887 restaurant.

To help guests – and who know, possibly also the bees – find their way, we have just unveiled a new Kitchen Garden sign and logo.
