On Christmas day, Chris and I took the guests to Shieldaig for a trip along the peninsular. As we have had so much snow, we checked it out the day before and decided it would be fine for the guests. We set off en mass and once we got to the bay, Chris and I set out hot chocolate and tea and coffee with biscuits and sloe gin for everyone to enjoy. The views were spectacular, the bay had a perfect view of a snow-covered Beinn Alligin and the western edge of Liathach. On our return to the hotel, the open log fire was a welcome treat after the cold.
On Boxing Day we ran clay pigeon shooting and archery in the morning and a treasure hunt in the afternoon. The hunt went well with a couple of teams trying hard to get the first prize, a bottle of Torridon whisky. One team was so confident they managed to complete the hunt while still having pints of beer in their hands. Good on those Aussies!
On Sunday, the weather was perfect for a kayaking session. Chris decided to let me practice my coaching so I ran the session. We took a trip over to Shieldaig and around the islands and had four seals following us throughout. On the way back we had fantastic view of the snow-topped mountains.
