Apprentice Year 1 and 2

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for positive, productive and friendly members of the team, who are fun to work with and assist with delivering five-star service in all areas of the resort.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - HOUSEKEEPING

  • To assist with the housekeeping of all resort public and back of house areas
  • To assist with the housekeeping for all resort bedrooms
  • To re-stock and replenish equipment and supplies in the cupboards
  • To assist with the cleaning of staff bedrooms for new arrivals and staff areas
  • Assist with the washing of staff uniforms
  • Assist with organising and distribution of laundry and linen
  • Assist with washing and ironing of guest laundry

KEY RESPONSIBILITES – FOOD AND BEVERAGE

  • Professionally serve breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, tea/coffee room service and dinner
  • Setting tables and ensuring all dining, front of house and library areas are ready for service
  • Deliver food and drink to 1887, front of house, room service and library.
  • Clear and re-lay tables
  • Assist with the preparation of drinks in the whisky bar
  • Clear and clean glasses
  • Restock and replenish bar & restaurant supplies
  • Ensure five-star standard of cleanliness and hygiene are met at all times

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – TRAINEE COMMIS CHEF

  • Assist with the food preparation for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, room service, dinner service for hotel and inn kitchens
  • Assist with the implementation of self and Team Cook Safe
  • Assist with the control of food to reduce wastage in line with agreed GP targets
  • Inform senior team of low stock to maintain adequate levels
  • Assist with the cleaning of the kitchen and storage areas
  • Assist with the preparation and production of healthy, varied meals for the whole team daily

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – FRONT OF HOUSE

  • Welcome guests to the hotel at the front door or in the car-park in a friendly and professional manner
  • Assist guests with their bags
  • Check in guests and escort them to their room. Check out guests and assist with their departure
  • Professionally serve Afternoon Tea, Welcome tea/coffee, tea/coffee room service
  • Assist with the preparation of drinks in the Whisky bar
  • Clear and clean glasses
  • Restock and replenish bar and restaurant supplies
  • Ensure five-star standard of cleanliness and hygiene are met at all times

ABILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

  • Communicate effectively with all teams and departments
  • Ensure guests are happy and deliver a consistently high level of service
  • Be able to talk to guests effectively about the resort and what is on offer
  • Inform the Head of Department of any quality, stock and equipment requirements
  • Greet guests in a friendly, yet professional manner

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be between 18 – 24 years old
  • Available for a 2-year contract for the duration of the apprentice scheme
  • UK/EU passport and/or valid visa
