The 2013 Torridon Walking Festival held at the start of October was a great success. We had several groups of walkers out each day enjoying the fantastic Torridon mountains.
The weather was fantastic for such a wild place, with wonderful atmospheric views laid on each day, albeit with a little wind.
The group that went to Rona were blessed with sunshine, great views, dolphins and a superb sighting of a white-tailed sea eagle before dining in sunshine on the back of what the group could only describe as a ‘luxurious floating gin palace’ where they were served an excellent seafood dinner accompanied by a glass of wine. Or two.
Meanwhile the Introduction to Scrambling and Technical Mountaineering groups covered some of the most beautiful technical terrain in the country while learning all the skills needed to embark on such a journey.
A month on and we have snow on the mountains now, long evenings and the perfect reason to go to the Torridon Whisky Bar where we can dream about the great days we will have next summer.
