Even if you do not know your Kate Maclaren* from your Gold Head Nymph, there is something infectious about The Unemployable Fly Fisher’s latest post which makes some of us yearn to cast a line into the Torridon lochs.

Entitled Happiness is…Torridon Trout it is the fishy tale of a day spent on picturesque Loch Clair, little more than 15 minutes drive from us.

The writer describes arranging a permit from Neil Morrison at Coulin Resort then taking a boat out onto the loch armed with a brace of rods.

To be honest this is where it all gets a bit technical for the less-experienced hand who might be unfamiliar with the Streamflex Plus or know where to point it.

However if there is one thing we do know it is that people who fish love to share their knowledge with those keen to try and there is plenty of in-depth information to be gleaned from keen fishermen around here to enlighten the rest of us.
