As many of you will have heard on the news, there was as a large heath fire last week on Liatach above the village of Torridon.
Fortunately there was no damage to property – thanks to the efforts of local fire crews and those from further afield – but there has been damage to the natural landscape.
At The Torridon, three members of our staff fought the fires as members of The Torridon retained unit. And where possible, we fed and watered the fire crews as they went about their tasks.
In many ways the hill fire highlighted the community spirit of the area, and we are thankful for the efforts of all those involved in putting out the blaze.
The Torridon hotel, inn, restaurant and the Boat House are all open for business as usual and ready to welcome you.
