Robbie the current Torridon bull will hang his head in shame when he sees this.
One of our guests, in anticipation of a pleasant stay this summer, has just sent us a photo from 40 years ago featuring a truly magnificent Torridon bull called Torquil.
By the time our guest passed through Torquil had already shuffled off to the Great Paddock in the Sky but his towering presence remained in the form of his head mounted above reception.
We can only imagine the work to bulwark reception wall or wonder if a crane was used to hoist his cranium into place.
Presumably staff then required danger money to pass underneath in case it fell on them like Manuel’s moose take in Fawlty Towers.
