Just as we thought the weather was improving and the sun had started to shine in this part of North West Scotland, we heard a drip drip drip. And unfortunately it was in the drawing room! The drip got faster until there was eventually a stream running through the ceiling. Straight up to room 3 to see why…nothing! Bone dry and not a drop of water, apart from the water pouring through the ceiling from room 15. Quick up to room 15 and bang on the door. Door answers and the look on my face must have explained we had a problem. We waited a few seconds for the the guest to get decent and dive into bathroom 15. Nothing, not a drop. Guest then says that the bottom of the bath got really hot in the shower. Ahhhh! It must be the waste, no must be the hot water. Once we negotiate the access panel all is revealed. There, in two pieces, was a “Heath Robinson” repair David and I had carried out a few Christmases back when a shower pump split and exactly the same thing happened. I have only myself to blame; and now I remember what we should have done when we refurbished bathroom 15…fixed the pipe under the bath!
