Assistant Manager Ross Aitchison reports on exciting news from recent Hospitality Industry Scotland events.
I decided to go for a HIT Scholarship which would give me the opportunity to attend a management course at the world renowned Lausanne Hotel School in Switzerland.
The initial application was to write a report on why you deserve a scholarship to Lausanne. I was then selected to attend an interview in Inverness with the HIT management team.
The whole process culminated in the Emerging Talent Conference 2015 in Edinburgh at the Assembly Rooms.
The day was a mixture of key speakers and workshops by Peter Avis from Babylon Roof Top Restaurant in London, esteemed Indian chef Cyrus Todiwala OBE from Saturday Kitchen and finished off with Sissy Biggers, TV food presenter from America.
It then finished with the presentations of the scholarships winners and I am delighted that I was successful in my application and was awarded a management scholarship to Lausanne.
This will be a truly great experience which I can hugely benefit from in the long and short term.
