Saturday 3 July marks the start of the local Highland games season when the Gairloch Highland Gathering kicks off what is sure to be a lively two months of events culminating in the Portree games on Wednesday 4 August. Highland games offer a chance to sample the culture of the area in all its splendour. Caber tossing, highland dancing and traditional pipe bands combine to provide an experience which you will never forget. And what better way to follow the most traditional of Scottish events with the most traditional of Scottish drinks: a whisky in The Torridon’s gold award-winning whisky bar?
