Deservedly, the father and son Epstein partnership at Celebrated Experiences have been nominated this year as the top team for vacations to Scotland.

While they can certainly orchestrate the sorts of special touches that make a trip unforgettable—a private falconry or sheepdog demonstration, say, or the best seats at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo—their real forte is matching you to the ideal fairy-tale castle or charming country inn—and precisely the right room in each.

We know this to be true as they are great friends of Torridon, love the area passionately and have an in-depth knowledge of the rooms in the hotel and restaurant only matched by our housekeepers.

It is good to know that in this era of Google, Wikipedia and online research, we can still celebrate the expertise and personal attention of dedicated travel agents who have a real passion for their subject.
