It is always gratifying to be nominated for a top hotel award. The Torridon is so far off the beaten track it is good to be recognised for what we do.

That is why we are thrilled to have made the shortlist for not one but two hotel of the year 2015 awards.

The first is from The Caterer where The Torridon is in the running to pick up the Hotel of the Year Catey 2015.

A Catey is like an Oscar but a lot better – as far as we are concerned.

Hard on its heels another envelope just arrived announcing The Torridon has made the (equally short) shortlist for Hotel of the Year 2015 in the rural category from Food and Travel Magazine.

We are looking forward to seeing how we get on when they announce the winners but for now we are not counting our chickens.
We shall just feed our cattle instead.
