We have had a good show of early blossom in the Torridon Gardens. Amelanchier flowering away in tiers of white flowers against their pink- green unfurling leaves, plenty of plum and pear blossoms in our orchards. We have had some bright spring days following star filled nights with some great clear skies. Great cloud scapes during the day with voluminous white billowing clouds in a clear blue sky. With just a dusting of snow on the mountain tops and higher slopes.
Down at ground level we still have a show of early primula flowers the enchanting honey cups of Cowslips continue to flower abundantly in our kitchen garden. A wonderful wine can be made from their flowers bright and honey flavoured a rare treat but the flowers are also good as a salad garnish or decoration for cup cakes, or ice cream.
