After three years of hard work and dedication, apprentice Rosie Wilkins graduated from the programme at a black tie dinner with fellow apprentices from hotels across Scotland.
Apprenticeship in Hospitality Scotland (AHS) who runs the apprenticeship programme, recently won the prestigious Princess Royal Training Award in August 2018. This is awarded to UK employers that have created lasting impact by successfully linking their skills development needs to business performance.
After joining The Torridon Resort in 2015, Rosie has worked in all areas of the resort, from serving guests in the lounge to looking after our rooms with the housekeeping team and learning skills in the kitchen. During the three year course, Rosie has been awarded the Apprentice Level 2 Winner & Scottish Apprentice of the Year, Scottish Apprenticeship Awards 2017.
Rosie now joins us at The Torridon as Trainee Duty Manager in the hotel. Speaking of her journey, Rosie said:
“I have really enjoyed my apprenticeship, I have worked with an inspiring team who have supported me through each department I have worked in. The last three years have gone so quickly but I have learnt so much along the way. I am now looking forward to my next challenge.
This apprenticeship has provided me with so many experiences and opportunities that I wouldn’t normally have been given. I am so glad that I decided to join the scheme, it has given me a focus and I have found the career that I want to pursue.”
