The first thing I noticed when I was looking through the various bottles of whisky online was the case that Thor comes in. As soon as I saw it, I was hooked and keen to find out more about it. I have always liked the Highland Parks and as I like to buy unusual bottlings, Thor really caught the eye.

Highland Park have started a new limited quartet called Valhalla Collection. All four will be named after Norse gods and the first one is Thor. Loki, Freia and Odin will follow later.
The whisky is 16 years old, cask strength and is presented in an impressive boat-like wooden frame.

Nose: Seaside, sweet and fruity – zest, some vanilla and black pepper.
Palate: Very fruity, malt, honey. Salted biscuits.
Finish: Long with a good spicy kick .

This whisky is an absolute delight and I cannot wait for the others to be released. I have now had three bottles in the bar and it is a strong seller.
