Although recent heavy showers have given activities such as gorge scrambling and river kayaking a huge boost, there has also been one less-desirable consequence. In the garden the rain has presented a problem for strawberry cultivation. More strawberries have been picked than can be used whole; otherwise they would have been left in standing water. Luckily Bruno’s team in the kitchen responded to the surplus in the most delicious way, by making jam. The Torridon jam is delicious with cream and strawberries on one of our homemade scones or with breakfast toast. And after you have wiped the crumbs off your chin, you can stroll around the garden and view the plants.
