Foodie alert! There is a new 120 seat cookery theatre at the Royal Highland Show this year and first through the door will be our own chef David Barnett.
David’s appearance will be a highlight of Scotland’s Larder Live, four days of Scottish food events, when he will bring a taste of his innovative and exquisite Torridon food to Ingliston.
You can catch him for two sessions in the cookery theatre. At 12pm he plans to demo two stunning starters: langoustines with cucumber, celery and pears, and Isle of Ewe smoked salmon with salsify, samphire and seaweed meringues.
Then at 2pm David will demonstrate how he prepares his deeply-intense strawberry and elderflower sorbet with Cairn o’Mohr sparkling espuma and his home-bred Tamworth cured ham with spelt risotto, parmesan and wild garlic.
However, arguably the biggest treat for his Larder Live audience will be the handing out of tasters including the Torridon Teacake, a chef’s fun take on the Tunnock’s classic.
