From the whisky bar: Macallan 30 year old

After last week’s attempts matching cheese with whisky, I found myself being slightly challenged this week as I put together this fantastic whisky with yet another great cheese. In this case, the cheese is Blue Monday, created by Alex james (of the band Blur) and Juliet Harbutt,  and named after a famous song from the 80s. It is the only square cheese in the world.

Colleen’s tasting notes:
Nose: Sweet, toffee, fudge
Palate: Dry to begin then starts to come to life with bursts of lemon and other citrus fruits.
Finish: long and warming.

A fantastic whisky which goes great with cheese. A dram to be savoured. As always, your thoughts are appreciated.

Colleen
