All great things must come to an end and this month we must wave goodbye to Jason ‘Bruno’ Birkbeck, the talented, dedicated head chef whose skills have graced The Torridon kitchens for the last four years.
Bruno won The Torridon a third AA rosette in February 2011 and we have retained three every year since. He has been a great advocate of growing our own produce in the kitchen garden and also developed The Torridon Highland beef programme.
He brought a flicker of fame to our door with his appearance on the BBC Great British Menu in 2011.
More privately, Bruno married Emma while he was here and the happy couple now have a son, Oliver.
We part great friends with Bruno and his family and wish them every luck in the future.
Keen chef-spotters will now be able to find him at the Feversham Arms in Yorkshire.
But who is replacing Bruno at The Torridon?
Come back tomorrow and all will be revealed.
