Ross Aitchison, assistant manager, peers into some of the fine new bottles to be found at The Torridon.
In our constant drive to add great new lines to the famous Torridon whisky bar, we have just taken delivery of Auchentoshan Three Wood, a unique dram which has been matured in no fewer than three different cask types.
Moving from an American bourbon cask to Spanish Oloroso sherry and finally to a Pedro Ximenez sherry cask, the Three Wood is a rich, complex whisky with incredible toffee and sherry oak flavours. A malt to savour, I am sure it will be a big hit with our guests.
For our cultured beer drinkers, we have also added a range of popular new beers from the Cromarty Brewery on the Black Isle – Happy Chappy, Ghost Town, Red Rocker, Brewed Awakening and Rougue Wave – as well as West, a premium German lager brewed in Glasgow.
This week there will be bubbles on the tongue at The Torridon with the management undertaking rigorous a champagne tasting to find a glorious new house bubbly for 2015. Watch this space!
