As 2017 begins, we are all busy making our ‘to-do’ lists and bucket lists of things we want to do and places we want to see in the New Year, and ‘Rough Guides’, has done just that!

They have listed the Top 10 ‘must-see’ destinations to visit in 2017, with Scotland proudly taking the Number 2 spot.

With all that Scotland has to offer, it is not surprising to see it featuring on a list of this sort. In particular, The North Coast 500 is complimented for its “rugged road-trip route through The Highlands”. Passing through breathtakingly beautiful mountains, white sandy beaches and open lochs, the NC500 is well deserving of a place on any bucket-list.

With The Stables and Hotel being just off the NC500 route, we love meeting people passing by, whether it’s for a nights stay or for a meal. With new developments on the NC500, it is definitely a bucket list-worthy destination.

As well as an impressive road-trip, Scotland’s food and drink scene is outstanding, providing microbreweries, lots of different whiskies’ and remote pubs with great food and drinks to offer. Up here in The Highlands, we have a lot of local breweries brewing their own beers, some of which you can try here in our Inn. You can also enjoy a Scottish Pub-meal with us at The Inn, while enjoying a great, relaxed atmosphere.
