Scott- Maintenance Manager
What is your role here at The Torridon?
I look after the day to day maintenance of the resort.
What brought you to the job/area?
I live locally and had been working as a self employed electrician for the last 18 years. I was looking for better quality time at home and the job came up so it seemed like the perfect fit!
What does your job entail on a day to day basis?
My main responsibilities are managing the maintenance team, ground works, installation and essential maintenance to the hotel systems and buildings. However, anything can happen on a day to day basis so I have to be ready to take on new challenges as they come.
What is your favourite thing about the job?
My favourite thing about my job is the new challenges I face on a day to day basis and working with the team.
Are there any ‘must sees’ for visitors to the area?
My must sees include Applecross beaches and sand dunes and the little grinyard beaches. I would also recommend mountain walks, bike riding and just exploring the general beauty of the area.
Do you have any advice for someone coming to work at The Torridon?
My advice to anyone starting at the Torridon would be to make sure you know where Torridon is and that you want to be in the Highlands as we are quite remote.
