Denisa Cholvadova - Assistant Operations Manager for 2.5 years
What brought you to The Torridon?
I came to the Torridon for the job role.
What does your job entail on a day to day basis?
My list of duties is quite long, but in general as my title suggests, assisting with day to day operations of Torridon Resort.
Tell us your favourite thing about your job?
Creating great memories for guests with our wonderful and hardworking team. Another thing which I really do love to see is a colleague who came to us with little experience, growing his confidence and turning into a strong team member. We have a great training system in place, making sure you are supported on all levels.
What is your favourite thing about the area?
Midges. Just joking! It will probably sound strange, but remoteness. Yes, it can get tiring to travel long distances everywhere, but then you come here and you can ‘hear’ silence! Very rare and precious nowadays, I believe.
Are there any ‘must sees’ for visitors to the area?
Torridon Hotel itself is a ‘piece of beauty’. Then definitely drive through the Glen and scenic route to Applecross.
Do you have any advice or words of wisdom to someone coming to work at The Torridon?
If you think you will be in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do, you are wrong. Yes, you will be living a bit further from some bigger town or city, but believe me, living in here gets people more together. You will meet people from all around the world, get to know different cultures, gain new friends, have fun and create unforgettable memories. And all of these in a beautiful setting of Highland Mountains.
