Gardener Tom talks about some very exciting updates in the Kitchen Garden
The Torridon kitchen garden is bursting with life! There has been heat in the sun and consecutive days of good weather which is making everything grow with enthusiasm.
The apple trees, blackcurrant, redcurrants and gooseberries are bearing their fruit and should be ready for a delicious crop in the next coming month. The polytunnel is filling in nicely, bringing a smile to the face of Ross Stovold and his kitchen team.
We have started work on our ‘Arcturus’ gin garden which we hope will be a big asset to the hotel and we aim to be complete in June. Garden hard landscaper Gary Grant has been working alongside me and gardener Grant, building a pergola and Star-shaped pool while we will be planting out all the plants and botanicals which are used to produce our gin. It is always a satisfying moment seeing something you have designed come to fruition and we look forward to inviting you all to have a look soon. In the meantime, here are some pictures to give you a flavour of what it is going to look like/
