48 HOURS AT THE TORRIDON

To celebrate the longest day of the year, we have put together what happens in a typical 48 hour period at the Torridon and what you can expect from your stay here.

DAY 1 – NOON

Across the Hotel and the Inn, the housekeeping team will be preparing the rooms for the arrival of our guests.

DAY1 – 2PM

A warm welcome from the team at reception, valet parking and help with the bags will ensure our guests receive the attention they deserve on arrival.

DAY 1 – 3PM

After the journey, an afternoon tea can be served in the drawing room as you take in the view and decide how to spend your time on the next few days ahead.

DAY 1 – 5PM

Enjoy a walk around the Torridon resort, the two acre Kitchen Garden and farm is an impressive place to start. Many ingredients in our menus are home grown, supporting  Head Chef Ross Stovold’s field to fork ethos.

DAY 1 – 7PM

Guests enjoy pre-dinner drinks  in the Whisky and Gin bar with over 365 whiskies and 120 different selections of Gin to choose from, including The Torridon’s very own gin, Arcturus.

DAY 1 – 8PM

The 1887 restaurant will be busy with the great sound of conversation and noises of approval for the food. Chef will be overseeing every dish leaving the kitchen.

DAY 1 – MIDNIGHT

The hotel winds down as do our guests. Great care is taken in picking the linen and duvet covers for the bedding to ensure a great nights sleep so our guests wake up feeling relaxed and refreshed.

DAY 2 – 7:30 AM

The staff are already quietly going about their business preparing service for breakfast and ready to welcome the early risers as the sun comes up over Liathach. The Morgan car is being prepared for a guest hiring it for the day.

DAY 2 – 8AM

The kitchens will be in full swing and our menus range from a traditional full Scottish Breakfast to lighter and healthier dishes with locally sourced ingredients.

DAY 2 – 9AM

Our Activities team will be setting off for a guided walk in the Torridon hills. We also do full day mountain guiding on the local munros.

DAY 2 – NOON

We have some of Scotland’s best scenery on our doorstep. There are so many viewpoints, places to see, small villages to visit and shops to enjoy.

DAY 2 – 1:30 PM

The Torridon area is fantastic for mountain biking, with stunning views and quiet roads, you are guaranteed to see something special that you would never see from your car.

DAY 2 – 3PM

Perhaps a refreshment is due. The Stables has many local ales to sample, so why not reward yourself after a day on the hill, with a well- earned pint.

DAY 2 – 4PM

On the lawn you could indulge in either Archery or Clay Pigeon shooting. Everyone from the beginner to the expert, can enjoy.

DAY 2 – 5PM

Our menu for the day will be on display in reception, but many guests staying for 2 nights like to sample both the 1887 menu and the homely cooking of the Inn.

DAY 2 – 6PM

Kitchens will be preparing for service for the evening as our guests get freshened up. We also get a few people having a nosey at the evening menu…

DAY 2 – 8PM

Our Torridon Burger at the Inn is a favourite. You’ll be spoilt for choice between local beef & venison, or freshly caught fish dishes.

DAY 2 – 10PM

Throughout the summer we have live music in the bar at the Inn on Friday nights. Local bands playing a variety of their own music and covers. A great atmosphere for our busy bar.

DAY 2 – MIDNIGHT

During Summer months it hardly gets dark at night. The lucky ones will however get a great view of the stars on a clear evening and between October-March, guests are able to book for a Stargazing experience with a local astronomer.

DAY 3 – 7:30 AM

So much happens in the background of a smooth running hotel. Table cloths will be getting ironed and an early team meeting to plan for our new arrivals for the day.

DAY 3 – 10AM

Our check-out is at 11am, although guests may wish to enjoy a coffee in the drawing room and take in the wonderful view before departing.

DAY 3 – 11AM

Go left or right at the bottom of our drive and you’ll be met with wonderful roads & views to wind your way home. We hope its not too long before you’re back.
