This stunning photograph of a stag was taken by Geraint Ashton Jones, a regular and very welcome guest at The Torridon.
Geraint and his wife, Tania, have been visiting Torridon since 1997. Originally most of his time was spent walking or running in the mountains but more recently he has taken to photographing the landscape and wildlife.
Geraint achieved a personal goal this year when, after many attempts, he managed to photograph an otter. This was thanks in part to Chris’ guidance and a great position at the northern end of Shieldaig where the otter spent an hour fishing and coming ashore to eat.
The stags were photographed on the way to Applecross via the coastal road, although Geraint also photographs red deer within Glen Torridon.
