What We Did On Our Holiday, a new film shot in Scotland has its premiere this week with a special screening in Glasgow tonight.
While the human stars of the movie include Billy Connolly and David Tennant, the other hero of the plot is the Scottish scenery and in particular Redpoint beach by Gairloch.
What We Did On Our Holiday was written and directed by Guy Jenkin and Andy Hamilton and in this BBC report Jenkin describes his first glimpse of one of our more local strips of sand.
When we drove over the brow of a hill and saw it for the first time we were blown away. I don’t think there is a landscape like it anywhere else in Britain or Europe
If you would like to add a trip to Redpoint to what you did on your Torridon holiday, the beach is just a 40 minute drive from the hotel.
And if you love the idea of spending a few hours on one of Scotland’s finest shorelines, the kitchen will prepare you a magnificent picnic (from £30 a head) to enjoy after your paddle.
