There are lots of good reasons to come to this part of Scotland but the good people of Visit Wester Ross have listed five of the most compelling.
There is Attadale Gardens, 10 miles from The Torridon, with its ancient paths winding through 20 acres of rhododendron and scenic forest.
Or how about the spectacular Bealach na Ba, literally cattle road, which snakes over to Applecross. This spectacular drive begins just 7 miles or so from The Torridon gate.
They quite rightly mention the Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve which is almost on our doorstep and offers some of Scotland’s finest walking.
If the rugged wilderness is not your bag, you might prefer the horticultural miracle that is Inverewe Gardens, an hour from here.
And finally Visit Wester Ross suggests the spectacular beauty spot that is the Corrieshalloch Gorge, an easy day trip from The Torridon. A great drive, fine scenery – and we will have tea and cakes ready for when you get back!
