Our extremely talented head chef David Barnett is the man behind all of our wonderful, exquisite and creatively presented dishes at The Torridon.
David recently visited the Dutch town of Zwolle where he was able to experience new ways of doing things. Every country has their own culture and way of doing things when it comes to cooking, so it’s always good to be able to experience this and learn some new techniques and approaches.
This is what he said about his trip:
“Every year on my annual leave I spend some of my time working in other kitchens around the world to expand my knowledge and keep up to date with the current trends. This year I decided to return to one of my favourite restaurants which is called De Librije in a small town called Zwolle in Holland working under a very talented team headed by 3 Michelin stared Chef Jonnie Boer. I picked up lots of great little tips, techniques and flavour combinations that I am very excited to implement into my menus here at The Torridon.”
