We have just run our first Snow Hole Expedition of the year and were blessed with stunning weather and plenty of snow. We ran the trip in Glen Carron, giving us an unparalleled sense of wilderness. All we could see for miles around was mountains and snow with the occasional herd of deer.
On Saturday, we enjoyed a wonderful walk-in under clear skies and we headed up onto the summit of Sgurr na Feartaig to traverse an amazing ridge. We spotted plenty of deer and even a pair of golden eagles. Once we were bedded down for the evening, the night was still and comfortable.
Sunday was an early start but this allowed us to enjoy the sunrise and we even managed to catch a glimpse of a shooting star as the night sky gave way to the sun. The walk-out was through a beautiful glen that brought us back to our car, which ironically needing digging out.
