There is nothing quite like getting out onto the mountains in winter but you need to be properly equipped, both in skills and equipment. This winter we are running a host of courses and winter expeditions.

Our Introduction to Winter Skills course is designed to introduce you to the vital skills needed for winter walking. We will spend a stunning weekend in the wilderness of the Torridon hills, covering everything from ice axe technique and emergency shelters to movement on snow. We only work with small groups with a maximum of one instructor to six and being based in Torridon you guarantee a full wilderness Scottish winter experience.

Our expeditions are:

Overnight Bothy Trip
The Scottish winter is something very special and one of the most magical ways to experience it is a night away in the hills in a secluded bothy. This expedition will see you travel into a remote bothy where we will take in a hill and then drop down to our bothy for the night. We will then spend a night with the stove roaring and the fire blazing before wrapping ourselves up in our sleeping bags.

The next day we will walk out and you are promised to see Scotland at its greatest. No previous winter walking is required, just a sense of adventure. As we only work with small groups we will be keeping the numbers down to six.

Snow Hole Trip
For those who are looking for the ultimate adventure in the hills then look no further. Our snow hole expedition will take you into Scotland’s magnificent wilderness where you will spend a night sleeping in a snow hole, waking up to hot chocolate and Scotland laid out before you.

No experience is needed for this trip just a sense of adventure. We only work with small groups and as such we will be keeping the group number down to four on this trip.
