Some of us need little persuasion to celebrate the art of putting one foot in front of the other but National Walking Month seems like a good prod to remind us all of the joys of outdoor spaces. Particularly here in Torridon.
It doesn’t matter whether you have skipped up Everest recently or have more modest ambitions in the hiking department, we have walks for everyone.
The scenery is spectacular, the peaks can be challenging and the fresh air is bracing. Best of all we have our own Activities team ready help you make the most of the area.
A Munro for Me
A Munro is a mountain over 3,000 feet and this is one of the best areas to bag them. Some people collect Munros with admirable dedication; others are just happy to climb one to tick that achievement off the bucket list.
Whether you travel independently or would like to be guided by the Torridon activities team, you will find a useful run down of nearby peaks on our dedicated Munros page.
Low Level Adventures
However if even standing on a table gives you vertigo, you might prefer something more gentle in which case the activities team offer a selection of low-level walks in the area.
Many of these skirt Loch Torridon and all feature opportunities to pause and admire the Highland wildlife.
Don’t forget, our hotel guests enjoy complimentary activities during their stay, including guided low level walks. Ask for details when you book.
Picnic Perfect
There is nothing quite like a Highland ramble to help you work an appetite and we can supply a picnic or recommend local suppliers for when you want to rest your feet.
This is great picnic country but it helps to know the best spots. Check out our guide to great Torridon picnic places for inspiration.
