Walk on the Wild Side: The Inhabitants of Torridon Aren’t All Human!

October is an exciting time of year in Torridon. As the seasons shift, the landscape moves into rich autumn colours and all around the mountains and glens you can hear the stags bolving as rutting season commences.

Deer aren’t the only wildlife you are likely to encounter. In our forests, we have squirrels and pine marten providing some entertainment for those lucky enough to catch a glimpse. On the hills, the grouse and ptarmigan prepare for winter. While along our impressive coastline we have otters, oystercatchers, cormorants and sea eagles – the largest bird of prey in the UK. Not to mention our own herd of Highland cows.

Whatever your preference, our forthcoming walking festival provides you with the perfect opportunity to experience our vibrant flora and fauna. Join us from 17-19 October.
