The Torridon area was buzzing last weekend with the annual Celtman event.
The Celtman Extreme Triathlon is one of toughest Iron man contests around, with a cold water swim in Loch Shieldaig to a gruelling 200km cycle and finishing with 42km over both Munros on Beinn Eighe. Over 200 competitors were hoping to get through the course after months of preparation.
Torridon Outdoors were privileged to once again organise the safety kayaking for the swim and many of those kayakers then assistied Torridon MRT with the safety up on the hill.
We had a cracking morning with an amazing sunrise but the weather deteriorated throughout the day. Just over 40 runners managed to get onto the ridge until the top course had to be closed – but not before some brutal wind and rain swept through to add to the challenge!
Well done to all the competitors and especially to our previous instructor – Ryan Maclean – who beat his personal best time.
See you all next year!
