This month the Torridon Activities team set off on a Suilven Expedition with a family of four. We spent three stunning days in the Highland wilderness camping at the base of Suilven. On the first day we went kayaking on the loch below the mountain in perfect weather, arriving at our base with plenty of time to set up camp in a small sheltered enclosure.
Next day we headed up Slioch, a short walk from camp. Within an hour we were on the saddle, enjoying stunning weather and superb views of the Summer Isles, the Western isles and the landscape laid out below us. On day three we launched our kayaks again, but this time hugging the shore to avoid a freshening wind. At times it was so strong we had to wait for it to ebb but the group all did really well and ploughed on back to camp.
