Adventurous souls who go river kayaking in the Scottish Highlands like nothing better than a bit of rain beforehand to fill the river. Happily, the weather over the past few days has obliged and Chris and Rich decided to take advantage by racing over to the Carron gorge, between Achnasheen and Loch Carron. The river, classed as a grade 4, was a raging torrent when they got there and once in the gorge, the boys were fully committed to the run. Just to add to the excitement, trees had fallen across the river and several times they had to duck and dodge while shooting down the rapids. However the highlight of the day was the colossal waterfall near the end of the gorge; an awe-inspiring sight which could only have been glimpsed that day by river kayak.
