Video Games: River Kayaking on Abhainn Dearg with the Torridon Activities Team

This week Chris and I went out river kayaking. We decided to try the first descent of the Abhainn Dearg. This is a river that drops into the southern point of Loch Damph.

It was an interesting run with a range of grades on the different sections. It started with grade 4/5 falls then cut through a tight gorge at the same grade. At around the half way point, there is a grade 6 set of falls which look almost impossible. After this, it progresses down river at a nice grade 3 until you get back to Loch Damph.

The run was good fun and quite technical in places. We managed to film parts of it and have put it up on YouTube.
