Today was our first check of the Beinn Damph gorge for 2010. We do this once a year to check that the gorge hasn’t changed too much and if it has, then to see if it is still safe to use our usual route or find a new one. This trip started off as a mix of gorge scrambling and filming ourselves. However we found it hard to stop for filming as the gorge was full of snow melt and a little on the cold side. Once we stopped playing with the video camera, we warmed up and got through in a surprisingly short time. Although there has been more water moving through the gorge there has been very little change in its layout. We still have another gorge to check, hopefully soon. In the meantime, contact us if you would like to try gorge scrambling in the Scottish Highlands.
