Introduction to Winter Skills
This course is designed to introduce you to the vital winter skills that are needed for winter walking. We will spend a stunning weekend in the wilderness that is the Torridon hills, covering everything from ice axe arrest, emergency shelters and movement on snow to mention just a few.
We only work with small groups with a maximum of one instructor to six and being based in Torridon you are guaranteed the full wilderness Scottish winter experience.

Minimum numbers for course to run

Itinererary
· Friday evening at 8pm at the Torridon Inn for course brief and hand out of kit
· Saturday we meet at 8.30am at the Torridon Inn and we will cover
· Ice axe arrest
· Walking with crampons
· Avalanche awareness
· Ice axe work
· Saturday night off
· Sunday meet at 8.30am and we will cover
· Movement on ice
· Emergency shelters
· Simply rope work
· Anything that needs to be covered again
· Finish between 3-4pm unless specific times are requested by the group
